What is Bellafill?
Bellafill is a smooth, collagen-based dermal filler with polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) microspheres. The collagen gel in Bellafill provides immediate volume and lift to correct wrinkles and acne scars. Once injected, these microspheres stay in place and create a base that provides structural support for smoother-looking skin.
The collagen in Bellafill® provides immediate volume and lift for results that you can enjoy as soon as you leave the office. Over time, the collagen is reabsorbed while the PMMA microspheres are left behind. They create a supportive base that allows more of your own collagen to develop, resulting in smoother-looking skin in the long term.
Bellafill is the only long-term filler that’s FDA approved to treat distensible acne scars for up to one year. In just one office visit, you can safely treat your acne scars and leave feeling confident that you’ll look your best long-term.
How does Bellafill work?
Bellafill’s tiny, polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) microspheres are suspended within a base of smooth collagen gel. Once injected, the collagen gel immediately reduces the look of smile lines. Over time, your body uses the microspheres in Bellafill to create a “scaffold” onto which your own natural collagen can develop. This collagen forms a foundation that adds volume to wrinkles, reducing their appearance – and giving you natural-looking results that feel soft and smooth for up to 5 years.
Bellafill fades acne scars by adding volume to them, bringing them to the level of the surrounding skin and keeping them there long-term. Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, which often dissolve within a few months, Bellafill creates a lasting improvement in your skin. It restores rather than just fills for natural-looking, enduring results.
How long does Bellafill last?
The effectiveness and patient satisfaction rates of Bellafill have been established through 5 years when used to correct nasolabial folds, and 12 months when used to correct acne scars.
When Will I See Results?
Bellafill replaces lost volume in the skin below the indentation for correction that is both immediate and lasting.
What is the downtime after Bellafill?
You can return to your normal activities right away. However, you may experience some temporary swelling, redness, pain, bruising, lumps or bumps, itching, and discoloration at the treatment site. Keep in mind that these symptoms are usually temporary, resolving within 1 to 7 days.
